lake havasu artist, painter, teacher on line painting classes evelyn woodwardEvelyn Woodward

Evelyn paints a variety of subjects: seascapes, old barns, portriats, animals, florals and desert scenes. Having moved to Lake Havasu, deserts have become one of her favorite subjects to paint. She feels her original work is more than just pain on canvas, but rather 35 years of learning, practicing and observing every aspect of nature with its highlights, shadows, shapes and form.

She feels artwork should be inspirational and decorative, a piece where the viewer could get lost in the scene ... every time you look at the work, you could discover something new you had not seen before.

Evelyn has paintings in collections throughout the world, including Japan, Australia, Europe, Canada and many parts of the U.U. State senators, movie and TV stars and presidents of several corporations have purchased her works. She has numerous ribbons to her credit for participation in juried shows.

She has been teaching art for the past 30+ years and has traveled extensively to places like Seattle, Boise, Denver and many parts of California conduction seminars and workshops. She is currently teaching weekly classes here in Havasu.

Her formal art education includes Golden West College and Orange Coast College and she has taken private instruction for many years from several of America's renowned artists.

lake havasu artist monica silvers, paintings for sale Monica Silvers

Born and raised in Southern California I started writing and drawing at a very young age. I started painting at the age of 12 and stopped at the age of 16 to pursue my career.

After Years of being in the corporate world I am now retired and am able to freely choose what I want to do. Since oil painting is one of my passions, in 2006 I decided to pick up my brush and apply it to the canvas once again.

I look at the canvas as my world and this is my creation.
Some of my art is done with acrylic & oil. For the most part oil is my love.

My painting style is called Semi-Realism. I like to paint as real as possible in a 3-D technique.
One of the striking things about painting is that when I look at something, I truly see it and study it. As the old saying goes” stop and smell the roses”, it’s a true statement.

The trees, clouds, rocks, water, mountains, everything becomes so real. I start to become Aware of it right now, in the "Now Moment". I know that for me, I'm truly becoming "Awakened". All life as I see it is Beautiful.

Mountain Oil Painting by Christine HodgeChristine Hodge

Christine has recently discovered a hidden talent after 10 years as a graphic designer and owner of the local web development firm, Frontline Graphics.
Although Christine always admired the works of other artists, specifically painters, she never thought of herself along those lines. At the urging of a dear friend who was a painterand local artrist as well, and many other tallents, she started her journey early in 2007 with the expert teachers of two local instructors.

The peace and well being that Christine finds in her work makes its way to canvas and has been a source of surprise not only to family and instructors, but her.

“It’s funny…” says Christine, “When you discover something completely unexpected within yourself, you just wonder what else may be waiting in the wings.” I Thank my husband Tim for supporting, encourageing me in all I do, and my sons Jason & Jeremy.

I hope you enjoy my paintings, as much as I enjoyed painting them, it has been a real awakening for me.
